Small groups meet in homes and at church in order to share life and follow Jesus. We have groups that meet at different times of day on different days of the week. We have groups for adults, women, senior adults, young adults, families with young children, and more.

Here is a list of current Small Groups. If you’re not sure which one you’d like to attend, or have any questions, please contact Small Groups Director Connie Nichols.

This is a Bible study class (think old fashioned Sunday school) for everyone. A scripture is selected and sent to each member during the week for reading and studying if so desired. Then, Sunday morning we re-read that Scripture, share our Observations, then discuss any Applications it has for each of us. We end this short 45 minutes class with Prayer. SOAP. Every person has some valuable wisdom to share and some important questions to ask. If you would rather sit quietly and listen, we welcome that too. We would love to have you join us.

This group has been the backbone of our young adults' spiritual growth for many years. Bill and Pam Spencer have had a profound personal effect on every young person in our church. Pam prepares a meal and laughter comes easily in their home. As children grow up and graduate from high school they are vulnerable to so many worldly ways. This group helps prepare them to make choices that will not only be in their own best interest, but in those of the church, Creswell, the country and the world.

If you enjoy Doug Allison’s sermons, then this group is for you. He is the main leader of this group. Each week we work through a book, or a subject that has been selected. The whole group has a say in what we learn. This group is open to sharing openly and honestly the life experiences our God has given. We hear one another’s words and often assimilate them into our own way of seeing things or experiencing God. We often share a simple meal at the end of our evening together. The love and care we feel for each other is evident, it can be felt in the room around us.

We are a group of women of all ages. We meet on Monday evenings to laugh, pray, learn, discuss and study. Our topics are varied. We share our personal experiences and perspectives concerning our beliefs, our experience and our hopes. we support one another physically when help is needed, spiritually and emotionally every week. We each do our individual and collective best to be the love of Jesus to all those we encounter. Tears of joy and sadness are welcome here!

This small group is catered towards our more senior members and attenders. Led by Doug Allison, this group studies the Bible, has great life discussions, and enjoys sharing life stories. Everyone is welcome!

Ecclesiastes 8 “So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a
person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their
toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.”
Gernhardt’s Home Small Group is a group of Christian men and women who have experienced
life for many years and realize the value of coming together and uplifting each other with love,
prayer, laughter and tears. We do this weekly when we meet each Tuesday evening studying
God’s Word using various formats (The Chosen seasons 1-4, DVD presentations by Max
Lucado, a video series based on Geology and Creation). We do this by taking the time Tuesday
evenings to visit with each other about what is happening in our lives. Each week we are
treated to wonderful desserts that are brought.
But our Small Group is more than just Tuesday evenings.
It is the Small Group text string that is sometimes a text about a serious event where we desire
prayer or sometimes it is an innocent comment that then denigrates to bad puns, teasing and
laughter. It is the yearly camping trip; over the years we have gone to the coast, to a member’s
cabin in Sun River. It is the Saturday Oregon Duck football game parties. It is the White
Elephant Gift Exchange at Christmas (I am positive that certain people are on the lookout all
year long for the perfect gift!).
The most important aspect of our Small Group is the laughter, caring and tears as we immerse
ourselves in each other’s lives. This is truly what makes our Tuesday Night Small Group so
special.

This small group is made up of young married adults, young adults with families, and any others that want to join! As they all have busy schedules, the meeting times vary. Please contact Connie Nichols or one of the group leaders for more information.
